Newest additions to our family

Here are my newest additions (pieces to refinish)
Welcome sweet little dresser, I can't wait to sand the heck out of you, paint and antique you.  Just wait until you become a knock out.

My darling mother found these at a recent garage sale.  When Jay saw the pillows he said, "More pillows?" To which I replied, "I was running low."  He just laughed.

Why do I have to rescue every bench?  I just love recovering them in new fabric and transforming them into something new.

This is George, I love this piece.
And Josie's newest addition.  When I saw him and shook my head all she said was, "He was free, I couldn't say no!"

I needed to release some stress....

...so I started painting.  And trust me I am NOT an artist by any means.  I was checking out the latest blog entry over at www.thepleatedpoppy.com and she had this super cute (and somewhat easy) painting project.  I went out to my somewhat organized garage and grabbed my paints, paintbrushes, canvas, ruler and a glass of wine.  Here are some photos from my stress reliever painting project.  I brought the finished product to work and hung it in my cubicle.  I like seeing it in there, brings a smile to my face when I look at it.  I think I would try this again and make it on a larger canvas and figure out my lines a little better.

Be the best version of you!

Ba + Na2 =

Banana!!

Look at this awesome find of mine from the Fall City wide garage sale this weekend.

What you can't see are the small rusty casters that are on the bottom.  This is awesome!

I also scored these beauties!  They are both engraved with a 'C'
Wouldn't these look great with some fresh flowers inside?

I love old pitchers and especially in this color.  Great find for a buck!

These two items only cost me .67.  Please don't ask how I obtained the screen, you don't want to know.  The other glod flower thing I plan to spray paint and sell.  What color should I spray it?

Buckley Log Show

We spent Sunday with my newly married sister and her husband.  Started with breakfast at our favorite spot in Enumclaw, The Kettle and then onto BUckley for their annual Log Show.  It was our first time attending and almost the first appearnce the sun has made so needless to say we were ill prepared.  Shoulda, coulda, woulda.....packed sunscreen, waters, snacks, wore a different outfit and shoes.  The street fair and vendor selection was a bit lame and cheesy.  Once the show started it was entertaining and there was no shortage of people watching.  Although I wouldn't make this a yearly tradition just yet I would recommend to others.  Plus it was free.

Timber the Mascot.

Ready, Set, Go. Vertical climb up, this guy was so fast.

Ax Throw. (Can you see the ax?)

How cute is this?  Didn't know this little man, but he was so cute standing at the fence intently watching.

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!  We are getting ready to welcome, Josie's cousin, Dakota from California here.  She will be staying a week with us.  We are also celebrating Josie's new job at Subway and her boyfriend's (Jay's best friend) Connor's 17th birthday.  Keep checking back for my first blog giveaway....it will be coming in the next week or so.

Life has been very busy this week

The following finds are courtesy of Jay.  He was so very proud of his 'finds' this week.  First up are the Pottery Craft owl salt and pepper shakers.  They are kinda cute, should we use these or stick with our Fiesta ones?

Love this find, and it was half off.

Josie snagged this from him right away, it is now residing in her bathroom with her earrings hanging all over it.  I love that she thought of that on her own.  Like Martha like daughter, haha.

A little creepy and a lot of flourescent.  But for only .49, he snagged it.

I promise to have more regular posts, it has been very crazy at work this week.  Now back to your regular scheduled program.

Father's Day 2011

Hope everyone had a fun filled Father's Day!

Jay and I tried to sleep in, unfortunately we are such early risers we were up by 7 a.m. I made him breakfast and we spent some time together before the sleeping beauties woke up.  We met some friends at their lake property and had a picnic, did some fishing and had some good laughs.  Jay has been wanting to stop and see these fellas lately and take some photos.  So we brought the camera and hoped they were out near the road so we could snap away.  Their pupils were creepy, black rectangles.

{Warning...heavy on pictures}

They all came to the fence to say good bye.

We had the whole lake to ourselves.

Danny was the only one to catch a fish.

Top 5

Here are my top 5 beauty products that I use daily and could not live without.

1. Kirkland brand (Costco) Daily Facial cleaning towelettes
{I keep a pack in the fridge as well so they are cold to the touch in the summertime, is that weird?}

2. Pantene Detangler

3. Bare Escentuals Prime Time foundation primer

4. Bare Escentuals Faux Tan Bronzer and brush

5. Magnifying mirror and my tweezers

This is an added bonus, I love wearing earrings and adding to my collection.  Josie has started coming into my bathroom in the morning and borrowing a pair for the day.  SHe used to not like to wear earrings or dangly ones, but now she does.  I like that I can share them with her.

What are your top 5 beauty must-haves?

Finds from my pickers

I have been working a lot lately, staying late on Fridays and working all day Saturday.  I have been trying to ignore all the garage sale signs that keep popping up.  Our good friends Pam and Doug have been hitting up a lot of garage sales lately.  They have now "officially" graduated to become "Pickers."  While I am at work they have been sending me pictures with a price. I respond with a yes or no.  At the end of the day they email me my total and I swing by and pick it up.  While I cannot get out there this is a close second to being there.  Thany you Doug and Pam!! Below are some of their finds from this weekend.

A rusty pink vintage baby scale.

Love the tool box, the four tiered silver plated stand and old metal plant stand.

Why do I love rusty old scales.  They are so cute with a potted plant on it.

This was from a friend at work, her mom found these for me over in Eastern Washington.  A box of wood legs for $5.   These are the perfect size for more suitcase dog beds.

Another twin bed headboard and footboard.  Thinking I will prime and paint and see if i can turn into a bench.

I found these 6 chunky wood frames all half off for a total of $8.  I plan to sand and paint and put my cow photos in them.

I picked this up on my way home today for $1.25.  Would like to try and make this into a pendant light.

Love the crisp white and lines of this cute corner shelf.

Off to watch The Bachelorette from Monday, and enjoy dinner made by my husband.   Came home to Jay teaching Connor how to mow the lawn and use a weedwacker.  Have a good night friends.
