I have paint colors on my mind and paint chips in my purse.

Surfing Pinterest tonight a friend pinned this.
Genius.  Isn't it?
Of course I then had to search for other projects and here are the ones that I liked and want to make soon.

Anyone down for a Pinterest Party?
Let's make crafts and we all make a drink, dessert or appetizer we found on Pinterest.

Who is in?

Now you see it, Now you don't

Heading home from work this evening I was making better time than usual so I decided to take a quick peek in Goodwill. Well, guess what I found??!?!?!?

Yep this baby!

Now back at my house.
Yep, she is going to get a coat of antique white paint and then get sanded.
You will find her at the next Ruffles and Rust show in May.

This is my current project.

A few of my favorites

Cute First Day Picture... Make them write their name to see change in handwriting over years.

Cute yearly idea to make.

Made from recycled christmas cards, birthday cards scrap paper.

Small pieces of scrap fabric glued onto canvas.

Hope this inspires you a little.
I am still not feeling well, hoping to shake this bug this weekend.
Until next time.

I have retired the glue gun

 I swear, i did.
I have spent all day Monday and Tuesday taking over the kitchen table with my scraps of paper, glue gun and christmas cards.
Now it is time to start the clean up of the whole house.  We will be hosting Christmas Eve at our house this year.  Time to start the chex mix marathon baking and finish wrapping and tagging the gifts.

I saw this idea on Pinterest and had to turn this into my Christmas cards.

Here is a real picture of what my mess looked like.  Keep in mind I had gone through a whole bag of 40 glue sticks, my Taco Time Coke helped me stay awake long after everyone went to bed and thank goodness for Pandora.  I have been glued (not literally) to the Foster the People radio station.
Are you all done with your shopping?
What crafts did you make this Christmas?

Another project you say

I have had this one on my brain for some time now.  I have a friend who I met when I was 16 and we have connected through Facebook again and what do you know?  He answered my fb shout out for some wood wire spools.  So tomorrow Jay and I are going to pick up a few wood spools from his business.

I so badly want to show you what I am planning on making but I have to leave a little bit to be desired.  Friday is my last day of work for the month so I am hoping to work on it during my time off.

Do you have any guesses on what I might be making with a wood spool?

Craft Tutorial: Vintage fabric tree

I first saw these in the Stars Antique Mall in Portland this weekend.  I just loved them, I snapped some photos on my iPhone and came home and made myself a few.  I had everything on hand just needed to stop at the Dollar Store to pick up some poster board.  Here is what you will need to make these fabulous fabric trees:

Poster Board
Glue Gun
Fabric scraps (vintage table cloths, burlap, lace curtains)

I started by rolling the poster board into a cone shape and taping so it would stay that shape. I also needed to trim the bottom so it
was even.
Next i put one drop of hot glue on the inside of the fabric to glue it together and to form a sort of loop at the bottom.  Then I placed a line of hot glue at the top of the scrap and placed on the tree form.
Repeat and mix up the fabrics you use.

I found a pack of 5 of the glittered ornaments also at the dollar store and glued it to the top.  Bear with me this was my first one I made.  I think the second one (pictured below) turned out better.
The cone was taller and more narrow.  I need to figure out how to 'finish' the top so it looks complete.
The next two photos are the photos I took and what inspired me to make these.  I plan on making a few more and using them to decorate.

Have you put up your tree yet?

Good Junkin Day

Here are our finds from the past weekend.  Jay has always talked about one day having his very own pup tent, well guess what?  He scored one for $3 at a local garage sale, he was a happy man.  I managed to found some very neat pieces.  I am so ready to have September off to paint, prime, sand, glue and get ready for the next Ruffles and Rust show in October!

I was so happy to find this Heisey vintage cake plate.

Who doesn't love these beauties?

A nice old rusty wheelbarrow.  Are you interested in this Susan?

This is just what I was looking for.  I plan on painting this guy and am so excited to show you what I have in mind for him.

I am never one to pass up on a cute little stool.

I could not contain my excitement when I spotted this.  Originally from a grandfather clock it has been sanded down and was somebody's project to restore.  I talked the lady into just selling me the top and not all of the other pieces.  How cool is this piece?

Jay found this and had to have it, pretty cool.  Love the patina on it.

Jay did not understand why I had to have this, a find for only $15.  The next garage sale he found the pup tent so he said all was forgiven then. Thanks love.

Found some jewelry.  I hope Amanda is not reading this because I plan to give her some pieces for Christmas or a birthday. A major score at only a $1 a piece.

Gumby and his gang.  The whole bag came with 15 pieces in all for only one big one.

Could not pass this up for only ten cents.

We were starving for some lunch and always pass Wally's Drive In - in Buckley.  It was delicious!  This is the servus-fone that you order from.
