I love this piece!
Is this not the coolest?

On metal casters.

L.R.C.
{little rusty cart}

Parts Washer.
Jay said he has these at his work.
I see it as a beverage cooler.
Party anyone?

The Yankee Clipper sled.

In love with this double wash basin.
This will be making an appearance at the upcoming bridal and baby showers I have planned.

Found another two benches.
My darling father will be attaching the side arm rail, these will be getting a fresh coat of white paint.
Remember the previous one I had and sold?

Black metal display shelf.
Perfect to hold linens and Pottery Barn duvets that I will be selling at the shop.
{Our shop in the new location will be opening soon!!! Yahoo!  Can't wait to fill you in!}

A new blue typewriter.

Found two of these large glass jars filled with matchbooks from all around the world.

Nine total of these branch sphere things.

Vintage Fiesta salt and pepper.
Love the color.

Three really large apothecary jars.
What should I fill them with?

I need a vacation.

Real or fake?
You decide.

cold thai salad w/ homemade peanut sauce

Best Ever Peanut Sauce

1 c. peanut butter
2 limes, zested and juiced
5 tsp. sesame oil
2 T. seasoned rice wine vinegar
4 T. soy sauce
6 T. honey
4 garlic cloves, roughly chopped
2 T. minced ginger
1 c. roughly chopped cilantro, stems and all
1 c. vegetable oil
1/2 tsp. kosher salt
4 tsp. sriracha chili sauce (or more if you want more spice)
6 T. water

Add all ingredients to bowl.
SInce I don't have a blender (but I do have a magic bullet) I had to split my mixture in two batches to blend.
Makes about 4 cups.

Serve over cold spaghetti. I use thin spaghetti and usually cook noodles and prep veggies the day before. I also grilled some chicken and chopped it up and placed in fridge to get cold.
Julienne carrots, cucumber, wash bean sprouts, cut red bell pepper, wash and trim snow peas and garnish with fresh cilantro.
Drizzle peanut sauce on top and enjoy.

This recipe has been made twice in the past week and I have served it along with the Gin Bucket on two seperate occassions in the last week. Delicious!
This is a new staple in our house.
I keep the extra sauce in this container in the fridge.

Recipe adapted from here.

American Picker Style

American Pickers has taught us something.
The art of, The Bundle.
Works everytime.

Our MEGA score from this weekend.
We were on our way to a wedding and saw a tool sale, from afar looked like a drive by. But we stopped and looked around. And by golly look what my eyes see covered in weeds, tall grass, other junk resting against a fence not even part of the sale.

Came with 18 rusty baskets.
Do you see what is still in the back of the truck?

This awesome piece will be coming to the new store so Alison and I can use it for display. I dreamt of this piece last night and how I can use those baskets to our advantage with staging and holding our smalls.  I will be heading to my local TRM this week so I can have three boards made for the shelving.  I plan to age them (nails, chains, hammers) and then staining it a dark brown.

This was the other piece we got at the same sale and part of The Bundle. I am thinking of putting a top on it and making it a coffee table. Planning on this piece to come to the October Ruffles & Rust Show. Yes planning ahead.

Yes, another chalkboard.
I am addicted to them.
This baby is LARGE.

Jay scooped this fella up so fast. Needs a good cleaning, thanks dear. I want to also bring this to RR but Jay said this might be staying at our house for awhile.

A 'before' shot of a toy chest.
I love transforming toy chests.

Yes, another globe.
And a cute wooden topped side table on wheels.

Jay has apparently also started collecting old lanterns. Will make a cute display.  Keep it up lovey.

What did you find this weekend?

I am off to make Chicken Parmesan from Pioneer Woman, pictures and recipe to follow.

Happy Fathers Day to all the men in my life!  I love you!

My other job is a bike collector

I love Schwinn bikes.

Look at this fantastic 1960's, 20"inch green machine.
Picked straight from a barn in Bonney Lake.

I bought it from a man, not much older than myself who said he used to ride this around their farm growing up.  His brother had a matching red one. I asked him to please go get that one too so I could buy it. He just laughed and said he didn't know where that one was.

** Breaking News **

Yes, it is true.

The Modern Cottage Co. will only be open for 3 more days.
Thursday 11-3
Friday  11-4
Saturday  10-5

Most of us have either our whole space on sale or most of our pieces on sale.

Don't worry you will still be able to come see us and shop.
We will only be moving one block away onto Broadway.
There we will be among other antique shops, one of a kind finds real close to The Rialto and The Pantages.  The shop will be smaller than what we previously had and I will be sharing my space with Alison from The Modern Cottage Co.  We are hoping to re-open in early July. I will keep you posted via the blog and facebook.  I am so excited to start fresh in our own little shoppe, (new store name to be coming soon) and see what the next year brings us.

I am also planning on having a garage sale at my house in the near future. Details will be posted.

I will be posting pictures of my finds tomorrow,  my lunchbreak haul at the Goodwill.

Shoppe Hours

Please note the shoppe will not be open on Sunday's. I will be working this Saturday, most items in my space are marked down, ready to go home with you.

On another note my new favorite app is Red Stamp. I made the Shoppe Hours on it and have also sent some fun cards, invitations etc. with it.
