I have paint colors on my mind and paint chips in my purse.

Surfing Pinterest tonight a friend pinned this.
Genius.  Isn't it?
Of course I then had to search for other projects and here are the ones that I liked and want to make soon.

Anyone down for a Pinterest Party?
Let's make crafts and we all make a drink, dessert or appetizer we found on Pinterest.

American Pickers

Jay loves the show, American Pickers.
Well this weekend he was the star of his own picker show.
My mom took us to an estate sale where she was on Friday and scored some fanastic finds. We spied some furniture and old wood up in the rafters of this garage and told Jay he could take down whatever he wanted.  So he found a ladder and went to town.  Unfortunately we didn't find anything great, but we did come home with a few things.

We spent the whole weekend at my parents, and turned their garage into a painting shop.  In all we had 17 pieces there that we were working on.

Typically I tend to paint everything white or black, so I am preparing you for some new and fun colors.
All the pieces we were working on will be heading to the shop, The Modern Cottage Company hopefully within the next week or two.
I will also be saving a few of them for the Ruffles and Rust Show, May 11th & 12th.

Sunday brought close to 4" of snow in Renton, but by the time we drove home the sun was shining and the snow was melting.

What did you do this weekend?

Thrifting Thursday

Tomorrow is Friday!!!
Can you tell that I am excited?
My weekend consists of painting, grocery shopping, painting, spending some time on Pinterest, painting some more, a load of laundry or two, checking on my paint that should hopefully be drying nicely and playing some Sequence.

I love the shape of this end table.
What color should I paint her?

I love this little bookshelf. Couldn't you see this in a childs room with their favorite books in it.

Love this tall globe.
I am not one to pass on old globes.
I plan to paint the base.

A Ball drink dispenser.
I already have one and will have this one for sale soon.
Perfect for summertime BBQ's.

We have been addicted to Sequence Dice now we can play the real version. Come on over if you want to play with us!

Tune in tomorrow for Favorite Recipe Friday!

Yep, it's happening.
I have joined forces with two amazing, talented and fun ladies.  Together we will be selling our furniture, crafts, knick knacks, chalkboards and one of a kind treasures in Tacoma.

Friday Finds and Dinner

What a looong week it has been.
So grateful that I get a 3 day weekend, I have a lot to do.

I needed a fix tonight so I stopped in at my favorite watering hole, the local thrift shop and scored BIG time!
Sitting by itself on the shelf I spied this fella.  A HUGE gray Fiesta platter!  I was practically running to the cashier.
For those of you that are new to this blog, I must confess that I am a bit of a Fiesta addict.  I should probably dedicate a post to that soon.

I had to show you just how big this was so I placed a dinner plate and a smaller salad plate on top.
Jay was also excited to see my find, bless his heart.

What were they thinking?
Winnie the Pooh fabric? Yuck!
I can't wait to rip this off and repaint this stool.
Vintage books are another weakness of mine.

This guy was begging to come home with me.
A fresh coat of white and he will be as good as new.

What I made for dinner tonight:

Lemony Olive Chicken

1 tbs. vegetable oil
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 can cream of chicken
1/4 c. milk
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
pinch of pepper
1/2 c. sliced black olives
4 - 6 thinly sliced lemon slices
4 c. hot cooked rice

Heat oil in skillet.  Add chicken until browned. Add soup, milk, pepper and olives.  Top with lemon slices.  Heat to a boil, cover and cook on low heat another 5 minutes or until done.

Serve over rice.

This is a family favorite at my house.

Going to the Rodeo

Thank you garage sale down the street.
I just happened to be driving Jay's truck when I went to Costco and the grocery store this Sunday when I spied a little brown cardboard sign that read those two little words that I love to see,
 "Garage Sale."

Four minutes later I had this in the bed of the truck.
The bed is a full size and is metal.  The woman told me she bought it in Canton, Texas and had it custom painted for her son's Rodeo themed bedroom.
Yeah it's cute, but not my style.
What color should I paint it?
Please send me your ideas.
I loved the matching toybox, can't wait to paint the baby up.

I loved the wheels.

Bear with me

Hello friends,
It seems that I have run out of space on my little blog here.
In the meantime I am upgrading to more space and in the process of looking at some other options. If this has happened to you please share some ideas of what you did or how to go about this.

Hope you are having a fabulous weekend!

Cincinnati Chili

Cincinnati Chili

2 lbs. ground round
2 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped green bell pep
1 can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic &oregano
1 1/4 c. H2O
2 tbs. chili powder
1 tsp. cumin
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground allspice
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 can light red kidney beans, rinsed & drained
1 (6oz.) can no salt added tomato paste
5 c. hot cooked spaghetti
handful shredded cheddar cheese
handful diced red onion

1. Cook beef, onion and green bell pep over med - high heat until browned, stir to crumble. Stir in diced tomatoes and next 9 ingredients.  Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat, simmer for 30 minutes.

2. Divide cooked spaghetti among serving bowls. Spoon chili over pasta; top with cheese and red onion.

Verdict: Family thought it was a little weird at first to have chili over spaghetti but they ended up liking it.  The chili portion would be delicious over a baked potato. I will be making this again.

Now you see it, Now you don't

Heading home from work this evening I was making better time than usual so I decided to take a quick peek in Goodwill. Well, guess what I found??!?!?!?

Yep this baby!
(photo taken @ GW)

Now back at my house.
Yep, she is going to get a coat of antique white paint and then get sanded.
You will find her at the next Ruffles and Rust show in May.

This is my current project.

Sneaky girl

Silly Betty.
She has never once (that I know of) gotten up on the couch to sun herself.
Jay and I were doing some projects outside with the sun shining and we came in and saw this. Who does the silly girl think she is? After telling her to get off the couch she sulked back to her bed.  Thirty minutes later we walked past again and low and behold she was up on the couch again.

She is now for sale to a good home.

Sleep Talking

It has been awhile since I posted some of Jay's sleep ramblings.  He seems to not be talking as much lately but lucky for you I have a long list of these.

"I am sorry, I know Kung Fu."

"They have a lot of owl things here."

"What's a matter?"

"4,000 or 5,000 more. Hello?"

"Well, which one is it for pete's sake?"

"This kind of crap is what you get when you ummm..."

"Hello?  It shouldnt be."

"Well I don't know even if you did do that."

"There she goes."

"What do you think of that though?"

"Oh well, to late now you know what I'm saying?"

(very loudly) ooooohhhhhhh MMMMhhhmmmmmm (almost like humming)

"I'll pay my other bills."

"Oh my!!!"
